It's a public stargaze, mostly directed to the residents of the Lawton Station community but is open to anyone who wants to come.
We will have two telescopes and a pair of binoculars on a stand for people to look through.
Age range is 5 and up.
We'll be right in front of the swings at the community center as you enter Lawton Station
Tips:
- Don't bring any white flashlights to a stargaze, red only please. White lights interfere with people's eyes' dark adaptation.
- Leave your glasses on if you wear them all the time to look through the telescope
- Don't touch the telescopes. It's very easy to knock them off target.
- Take a good long look and really see what you're looking at. It's called 'observing', not 'glancing'
- Be careful about extension cords that are near the telescopes.
