Jupiter is at "Opposition" tonight. It will be rising in the east about 7:45 for people on Eastern Daylight but won't really be good for observing until about 9:30.
When a planet is at "opposition" that means that the Sun, Earth and Jupiter (in this case) are all in a straight line which usually means that the planet is about as close as it's going to get for the year which would be a very good time to view it.
This is the actual date of opposition but the reality of things is that this alignment doesn't change very fast so you have at least a month on either side where it will make no difference at all to the view you get through your telescope.
