The Perseid Meteor Shower is considered to be one of the biggest and most reliable meteor showers of the year. And the fact that it takes place in the middle of summer contributes to the fact that it's by far the most widely viewed meteor shower. It even makes an appearance in song lyrics–int he John Denver song Rocky Mountain High the line, "I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky" is about this shower!

This year we are free from the interference of moonlight and if we can get some good weather will have a spectacular view of this crowd pleaser of a meteor shower.

This shower nominally peaks on the night of August 11-12 but historically has a long run up and fade out of about two weeks on either side so you can expect to see some Perseids all through the month of August.

The Marriott will be having some kind of big event for this!
